The book summarizes the experience of scientists of the PWI of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, other organizations of the CIS countries and industrialized countries in the development of technologies, materials and equipment for ESH and electroslag processes for recycling metal and metal-containing waste, i.e. the return of production waste to the “production-consumption” cycle. The problems of the physicochemical interaction of the electrode and filler metal and slag and the features of this interaction in the mentioned electroslag processes are considered. The technologies and techniques of the main ESH methods and recycling are described, examples of their industrial application are given. The defects that appear during ESH in the fusion zone and in the weld metal are examined, the causes of their occurrence are considered, measures to prevent them are described. The book is intended for engineering and technical workers employed in the field of surfacing and welding production. It can be useful for teachers, graduate students and students of technical universities.
